Node workflows vs a production workspace
In SeamUI, a generation is a prompt, a model, a count and a few settings, organized inside a project. There is no graph to wire, no custom node to update and nothing to debug when a dependency changes. A marketer, designer or client can run the same workflow as the person who set it up.
ComfyUI gives low-level control over every node and step, and someone has to build and maintain that graph. If your goal is finished images and videos rather than pipeline engineering, SeamUI removes that entire layer of work.
Do you need a GPU?
Not with SeamUI. Generation runs on the provider you connect, so a laptop is enough to produce Flux images or Veo clips at full quality. Your speed does not depend on your VRAM, and you never have to upgrade hardware to try a newer model.
Local ComfyUI runs on your own hardware, and Comfy Cloud replaces that with a recurring subscription and compute limits by plan.
- SeamUI: no GPU, one-time workspace licence, provider bills generation usage.
- Local ComfyUI: free software, paid for in hardware, electricity and setup time.
- Comfy Cloud: no local GPU, recurring subscription.
Models and provider flexibility
SeamUI gives you flexibility at the provider level. One Kie.ai key reaches GPT Image, Nano Banana, Flux, Veo, Seedance and Grok Imagine, and you can also connect direct provider keys. For most production work, these hosted models deliver top-tier results without maintaining a local model library.
ComfyUI's strength is its open ecosystem of checkpoints, LoRAs and custom nodes, which matters mainly if you train or fine-tune your own models.
Batch generation and automation
SeamUI automates the work content teams do daily: up to ten image generations in parallel, saved prompts you reuse across projects, and CSV image batches on team plans. There is no workflow to deploy, so a new campaign starts in minutes.
How to move from a node workflow to SeamUI
Most ComfyUI graphs used for everyday content boil down to a model, a prompt template and a few parameters. Those translate directly into a SeamUI saved prompt, which anyone on the team can run. Graphs built on custom nodes, ControlNet chains or local LoRAs are specific to ComfyUI.
SeamUI vs ComfyUI pricing
SeamUI is bought once and never resells generation credits: you pay your provider directly for the images and videos you generate. Local ComfyUI is free software that needs your own GPU, so the totals below use Comfy Cloud Standard, the option that removes the hardware requirement.
| Dimension | SeamUI | ComfyUI |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | One-time lifetime licence, no subscription | Free local software on your own GPU, or a recurring Comfy Cloud subscription. |
| Plans | Indie $99, Business $199, Scale $249, one-time | Comfy Cloud Standard $20/month, Creator $35/month, Pro $100/month. |
| Generation costs | Billed directly by your provider at its own rate, no SeamUI markup | Local hardware and electricity, or cloud compute limits by plan. |
| Plan cost over 12 months | $99 (Indie, paid once) | $240 (Comfy Cloud Standard) |
| Plan cost over 24 months | $99 (Indie, paid once) | $480 (Comfy Cloud Standard) |
| Plan cost over 36 months | $99 (Indie, paid once) | $720 (Comfy Cloud Standard) |
Plan costs at list prices, checked on September 14, 2026. Generation usage is excluded on both sides: SeamUI generation is billed by your provider, and ComfyUI usage depends on plan allowances.
Where SeamUI is better
- No node graph, custom nodes or dependencies to maintain.
- No local GPU: generation runs on your connected provider.
- Image and video models from several providers in one interface.
- Non-technical teammates can run the same workflow on day one.
Where ComfyUI focuses
- Node-level control and custom nodes for workflow engineers.
- Local execution of open models and LoRAs.
Who should use each tool?
If you want results rather than a pipeline to maintain, SeamUI is the faster path.
- You mainly generate images and clips from prompts with leading models: SeamUI.
- You have no GPU and do not want another cloud compute subscription: SeamUI.
- Your team includes non-technical people who need to generate too: SeamUI.
- You build custom graphs or train LoRAs on local hardware: ComfyUI.
