SeamUI MCP for AI agents
Create AI images and videos from your assistant
SeamUI MCP gives compatible AI assistants approved tools to generate, organize, transform, and track visual assets inside one durable creative workspace.
Workspace-bound access, revocable permission, and provider keys that stay inside SeamUI.
1. Ask your assistant
Describe the image, video, transformation, or organization task.
2. Approve in your assistant
Your assistant app asks before it calls a SeamUI tool, once or always.
3. Keep the result
The finished asset and its status remain available in your workspace.
Model Context Protocol
What is MCP?
MCP is an open standard that lets an AI application discover and call external tools through a consistent interface. Think of it as a universal connector between an assistant and the software where your work actually happens.
The Host
The AI application that manages the conversation and connects to MCP servers.
The MCP server
The secure bridge that publishes a controlled set of tools and data.
The tools
The specific operations the Host can discover and ask the server to perform.
MCP is not an AI model and it does not remove application controls. The model reasons, the Host connects, and the MCP server decides what is available and authorized.
AI agents and external tools
What can an AI agent do with MCP?
Instead of only answering with text, an MCP-connected assistant can inspect permitted context, choose a specialized tool, supply validated inputs, and read the result. Every MCP server defines its own limits.
Read permitted context
An agent can inspect the data and state a server deliberately exposes to it.
Use specialized tools
The Host discovers named tools, their descriptions, and the exact inputs each tool accepts.
Take controlled action
The server still enforces identity, permissions, validation, and any required human approval.
Built for generative media
Why use MCP for AI image and video generation?
Visual generation is more than one API call. An assistant needs to understand models and settings, bind references, wait for long-running renders, recover from interruptions, and keep every output organized.
SeamUI provides the durable creative workspace behind that conversation. Projects, assets, prompts, references, loading states, results, and safe errors remain available when you return to the dashboard.
Move from an idea to a model-ready request without hand-writing an API integration.
Review exact generation settings before work starts or content changes.
Keep generated images and videos alongside their source assets and project context.
Reconcile interrupted requests without blindly paying for duplicate generations.
SeamUI MCP tools
Generate and manage AI images and videos
SeamUI exposes composable creative operations while preserving the same projects and assets you already use in the dashboard.
Generate AI images
Prepare image generations with supported models, settings, references, and masks.
Create and edit videos
Prepare video generation, trim and merge clips, or extract a first or last frame.
Organize creative work
Browse projects and assets, reuse prompts and references, and keep results in one workspace.
Transform images
Resize images or prepare supported background removal and replacement operations.
Run finite batch work
Let the assistant run many images or videos as separate tracked actions, without unsafe automatic retries.
Recover safely
Check durable operation status after interruptions before deciding whether any new action is needed.
Connection and control
How to connect an AI assistant to SeamUI
- 01
Create your account
Sign in to SeamUI. The free trial is enough to connect.
- 02
Add the MCP server
Enter the SeamUI server URL in a compatible AI Host.
- 03
Choose one workspace
Authorize the connection and bind it to one workspace.
- 04
Choose the access level
Pick Full access or Read only. You can revoke it at any time.
Human control stays in the loop
Connections are bound to one user and one workspace. SeamUI rechecks permissions and capabilities on every request, keeps provider keys private, and lets you revoke a connection at any time. Your assistant app decides which tool calls it asks you to approve. Product-content deletion is not exposed through MCP.
Start with a finite creative recipe
Explore exact image batch and video examples that use public tools, bounded status checks, and safe recovery after uncertain delivery.

Questions about MCP and SeamUI
What does MCP stand for in AI?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI applications discover and use external tools and data through a consistent interface.
Is MCP an AI model?
No. MCP is a connection protocol. The AI model reasons about your request, the Host manages the conversation, and an MCP server such as SeamUI provides specific tools the Host can call.
Can MCP generate AI images and videos?
An MCP server can expose image and video generation tools to an AI assistant. SeamUI MCP provides approved generation, organization, transformation, and status tools backed by your SeamUI workspace.
Does the AI assistant see my provider API keys?
No. Provider API keys stay in SeamUI settings. SeamUI MCP can indicate whether a required key is available, but it never reads or reveals the key value to the assistant.
Can an MCP agent change content without confirmation?
With Full access, the assistant creates, updates and generates under the permission you grant when connecting, without another SeamUI confirmation. Your assistant app can ask you to approve each tool call, and you can revoke the connection at any time. Read only access never changes content.
What happens if an image or video request is interrupted?
The assistant can check the durable operation status in SeamUI. It should reconcile the existing request instead of automatically resubmitting work that may already have started.
